As hardware advances with improved capacity to acquire ECGs, the amount of ECG data being recorded is increasing exponentially. This is further reinforced by many different ECG acquisition modalities such as hand-held devices, wearables, holter devices, and implanted loop recorders. The need for accurate automated interpretation of ECG data. Artificial intelligence is showing huge promise in this area. This talk summarises some of the opportunities and potential pitfalls in this important and emerging area, including the potential for remote diagnostics and telehealth.
